My Story

I am an independent travel & lifestyle photographer, writer expertizing in travel, street, food and lifestyle photography and writing; travel creative, personalising journeys for travellers across India.

Based out of Kolkata, I live life deeply and travel slowly and responsibly. My signature style is defined by my imaginations, dreams, capturing a way of living that focuses on finding beauty within the imperfections of life and accepting peacefully the natural cycle of growth and decay. I am a story teller; my writings are deeply connected with photographs, of places and people that you have not seen but would like to read.

Claustrophobic by nature, I always had an insane calling for places I have explored and landscapes yet to be travelled, the people, their culture, their food and their lifestyle. Seated in glass-paned office, my mind fleeted with the clouds. I quit my job, to wander with them.

I take the road less travelled, and lace epic tales with ineffable images. I am pinned on the map and pining for more. Curiouser and curiouser & have an insane calling for everything under the stars. I don’t photograph or write subjects. I photograph and write the way they make me feel. Admittedly, it’s a bit of a strange concept. But it’s honest – and it’s the best way to describe my approach to my passion. Having no experience or education in the art and design industry, my passion for travel, photography and writing surpassed the fear of failure. I regularly venture off on a photo shoot or a blogging campaign, to one of the many corners of the world, seeking new subject matter to create my newest collection. I love to capture the details of our beautiful planet punctuated with the little things of every day; I appreciate every little moment. I travel to photograph people, celebrations, icons, lifestyle, cuisine and culture that make each place and their people unique. Experiencing other cultures, meeting people from other communities and other countries, seeing the beauty and sometimes the ugliness, has helped me understand that all our lives are interconnected and has made me grateful for my life.

A foodie and an amateur chef myself, I believe food is like an emulsified family, seasoned with love. The sizzling in a pan, the scent of spices wafting through the air, the textures changing before our eyes casts a spell on me. Food tells you a lot about places and people. I enjoy being on the road, meeting people with stories and cuisine to share. The recipes that I write are no-nonsense recipes and not only looks good on the plate but is good for the appetite too.

I faithfully return to Kolkata each time, where my roots lie, to capture its history, its old world charm and encapsulate its soul. When not on the road I live in Kolkata and is available for assignments worldwide. My images and writings have been licensed around the globe for commercial and editorial use. You’ll find my work used in content marketing, airport advertising, tourism guides, retail displays, books and magazines.

Apart from being a photographer, writer, I am an Artist. I design for integration in published & print media. I aim at removing items from the global garbage stream, making a positive impact on the environment, rewarding you with upcycled merchandise, beautiful & useful (home decor, office stationery, lifestyle products) to add into your daily lives. Everyday items come with an innovative design element. My team and myself handcraft gifts, to treat your special someone to a memorable experience, beyond material stuff. These experiential gifts bring in magic & memories. I believe in buying elements from local producers. I pick most of the necessary items through my extensive travelling all across India and its remotest corners. I have been curating things through my travels and upcycling it to something memorable or moreish.

I, also conduct workshops to reduce, reuse and recycle; to turn thoughts into things.

My favourite quote is,“It’s so hard to forget pain, but it’s even harder to remember sweetness. We have no scar to show for happiness. We learn so little from peace.”
~ Chuck Palahniuk.
Living by these lines, I capture every moment and customise journeys; stand up for social issues and promote radical social reforms, to motivate, inspire and spread the love.
